Ways to Give

Annual Fund

We realize all the academic learning and life skill development is only possible with faithful and generous supporters like you. We appreciate your caring and kindness to help us fulfill our mission – “to inspire, prepare and empower” our students now and in the future.

Our annual fund appeal begins in the fall; however, we receive gifts year-round.  You can give anytime.  Many individuals have become monthly, recurring donors with a set amount each month.

With 100% of our families being eligible for tuition assistance, we rely on the generosity of people like you, who share our vision for providing a high-quality Catholic education in a safe and nurturing learning environment.  We ask you to prayerfully consider giving to our annual appeal.

Heart of Thea Foundation - Each One Teach One

For over three decades, Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School has successfully hosted annual gala events to support our mission. Building upon this tradition and inspired by the generosity of our donors, we introduced the Heart of Thea Foundation – Each One
Teach One (EOTO) matching gift program. This initiative has transformed our fundraising approach from grand ballrooms to intimate classrooms, allowing us to showcase our students’ achievements by hosting events within our school community.

EOTO began as a matching gifts campaign, where donors pledged to match contributions dollar for dollar, encouraging our community to meet or exceed these matches. Although the matching amounts have varied over the years, your unwavering support has consistently enabled us to meet these challenges. All funds raised through EOTO directly support tuition assistance, providing our families with the confidence that financial resources are available to enroll their children in our school.

Today, the Heart of Thea Foundation – Each One Teach One has evolved into a vibrant giving community. We host a spring social, typically in March, and a fall reception to celebrate our collective successes. Individuals and organizations are invited to be
recognized in our online giving book. We warmly welcome your participation.

Endowment Fund

Guided by Sister Thea Bowman’s Endowment Fund Advisory Board, we re-established our endowment fund in 2019. Since that time, we have achieved over 50% growth. Our goal is to build the fund to over $1,000,000 within the next three years. We invite you to explore giving options that align with your philanthropic goals.

Areas of Greatest Need:

  • Tuition Assistance: Ensuring that every child has access to quality education, regardless of financial circumstances.
  • General Operating Funds: Supporting the day-to-day operations that keep our school running smoothly.
  • Educational Endowment Fund: Securing the long-term financial stability of our educational programs.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts, such as those made through wills or other estate plans, offer a flexible and meaningful way to support our mission. A simple provision or amendment prepared by your attorney can establish your legacy with Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School.
These gifts are popular as they are easy to arrange and can be adjusted to accommodate your life circumstances.

Retirement Plan Contribution Gifts from retirement plans like IRAs or 401(k)s offer tax advantages and can significantly impact our school’s future. These assets have the benefit of building tax-free over time, providing a substantial resource for both donors and the school.

Cash and Non-Cash Gifts, we gratefully accept gifts in various forms:

  • Cash: Donations can be made online, in person, via check, or through direct deposit.
  • Non-Cash Gifts: Many supporters choose to contribute in forms other than cash, including; securities, stocks, bonds, or mutual funds.
  • Life Insurance: Naming Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School as a beneficiary on a policy.

Your generous support enables us to continue providing a faith-based, quality education to our students. Thank you for considering a gift to Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School.
