PRINCIPAL’S NOTE
If you have not heard of the book, JUST MERCY, Bryan Stevenson, or the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), you should look into them. Mr. Stevenson is not only helping hundreds of wrongly convicted inmates (most due to racism), he is also leading an effort to educate on the history of racism, lynching, and the classroom to jail cell pipeline. Keep an eye out for the book…
PTO MEETING THURSDAY, NOV 13, 5 – 6 PM
We need your help to plan our November Family Event, Paint and sip. Give input on events, family opportunities, and fundraisers. Students can stay in the library during the meeting.
World’s Finest Chocolate
Thank you for all your support! Funds are to be turned in to the Office by November 19th. You will have another opportunity with chocolate sales after Christmas.
PEACEMAKER, FRIDAY, NOV 21st
We moved our Nov Peacemaker due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. All Peacemakers will receive a pass if they are allowed to participate.
DRESS CODE
We have seen a lot of issues lately with dress codes. Can you please help us with checking your students before school. Hair: no designs cut into hair and only natural colors. Boots: only worn on days when snow or ice are present. Boots fit under pants. Pants: no jeans, tight pants, holes, rivets. T-shirts: plain white. Socks: white/black.
LISTENING SESSION
We have decided to postpone the listening session that was scheduled for Friday.
CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING
If you want to volunteer at the school or attend school field trips, please contact the office to sign up for Initial Child Protection Training—this is required if you haven’t completed it yet. The Child Protection process begins with completion of Volunteer Application. All Child Protection training is online through VIRTUS.
