ANNUAL FUND
It was wonderful seeing the amount of students that were out of uniform Monday due to their family’s support of our Annual Fund. Our goal is 100% participation for families and staff. We are a little over half-way there, so please make sure to turn in your envelope if you haven’t already done so. Together we can keep growing. Your support is vital to the future of your children and all the future students who will become a part of the Sister Thea Bowman family.
FONDO ANUAL
Fue muy bueno a ver muchos estudiantes sin uniformes el lunes porque muchas familias apoyaron el Fundo Anual. Nuestra meta es 100% de participación de las familias y equipo. Estamos cerca 50% ahora. Por favor, ayuda nosotros en esta evento que es vital. Su apoyo es muy importante para sus niños (a) y estudiantes del futuro.
MANY BLESSINGS
God calls us to be stewards of creation. In the spirit of this call to stewardship, volunteers from Immaculate Conception Parish in Columbia, Illinois, and Mrs. Clemons from STBCS spent Saturday morning raking leaves, pulling weeds, planting mums, trimming around trees, and painting our front door in service of our school. Many blessing to those that helped.

La llamada de Dios es de servicio. En este espirito de gracias para la creación, un grupo de la Parroquia Concepción Inmaculada en Columbia, IL y Señora Clemens de STBCS vino el sábado pasado para hacer cosas bonitas afuera nuestra escuela. Muchas bendiciones a este grupo.
MASS
Due to Report Card Conferences, Mass is on Wednesday this week. Eighth grade will lead. Know that you are always welcome to attend.
MISA
Porque hay conferencias jueves y no clases el viernes la Misa este semana es el miércoles preparado por la clase 8. Conoce que todos están invitados.
REPORT CARD CONFERENCES
Report Card Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 23, from 9am-8pm. Report Card Conference times were included in last Thursday’s envelope. Remember all fees (tuition, Before Care/Extended Day, lunch) need to be paid before a conference can be held. There is no school the next day, Friday, October 24.
CONFERENCIAS SOBRE LAS NOTAS
Conferencias sobre las notas va a la fecha jueves, 23 de octubre a las 9:00 – 20:00. Recuerda que no hay conferencias sin paga mensualidad, Día Extendido y almuerzo. Tiempos de conferencias hubo incluido en su sobre el viernes pasado. No hoy clases el viernes el 24 de octubre.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Our 11th annual “Trunk or Treat” event will be held on Friday, October 31. Students are invited to bring a costume to change into around 2:00p.m. We count on our parents/guardians to make sure that costumes are appropriate for your child’s age and for wearing at a Catholic school event. Traditional Halloween costumes such as skeletons, scarecrows and witches are fine. Costumes/masks of famous artists or stars who use violent, foul or degrading lyrics or images are not allowed, as well as anything bloody and/or violent in nature. Props, including toy guns and swords, etc., are also not allowed. Please note that students do not have to have a costume to participate in Trunk or Treat. Your child should bring a container for the Halloween treats they receive.
Parents/Guardians who are participating are invited to come between 1:30p.m.-1:45p.m. A staff person will be on hand to show you where to park your car out on the playground area between the school and the church. Feel free to come in costume and to decorate your car in Halloween style! Have the Halloween treats, (wrapped candy, stickers, and pencils) you plan to hand out in the trunk of your car.
Please note that for safety reasons, all entrances to the parking lot will be closed at 2:00 and won’t reopen until 3:30p.m. dismissal.
After a class has been to each car, they will go back into to their classrooms to enjoy their treats until dismissal time at 3:30p.m. Parents/Guardians are welcome to enjoy some refreshments in the staff room until dismissal time. If you are unsure of the appropriateness of your child’s costume for this event, or if you have any other questions regarding this event, please call the school office. Thanks for all you will do to make our 11th annual Trunk or Treat event a huge success!
GATO O DULCES
Nuestra annual (11 años) celebración de Halloween es viernes, el 31 de octubre. Los niños (a) están invitado a traer su ropa de Halloween que pone a las 14:00. ¡No es una obligación! Necesitan bolsas para sus dulces. Ropa de Halloween es como reyes, reinas, ángeles, brujas, … Ropa que no es apropiado para un escuela Católica incluyan mascaras de “estrellas” que usan idioma violente, sin respeto… y cosas violente y no juguetes de armas.
Padres/cuidadores están invitados a las 13:30 o 13:45. Alguien de la escuela va a dar direcciones para parque entre la escuela y la capilla. Puede adornar su coche. Pone sus dulces… en el gato de su coche.
Por seguridad el parqueo está cerrado a las 14:00 hasta 15:30. Los padres y cuidadores pueden esperar sus niños en la cuarto de maestros. Los niños encontraran para jugar.
