We are still taking registrations for School Year 2014-2015. We have openings in all grades except first and eighth.
Dear Families,
Where did this summer go? It seems like only yesterday that we sent our Class of 2014 on to their next educational adventure, high school.
Our new school year brings new opportunities for our mission here in the metro East St. Louis area. You bless us with the privilege of educating your children. Every family commits to making the sacrifices of having their next generation prepared for a better life thanks to quality Catholic education.
You have helped us to have:
- 100% of our graduates enrolled in high school!
- 95% of our graduates in college/university!
As an integral part of our team, we would like to share with you that our Advancement Director for the past nine years, Sr. Marge Clifford, DC, has been missioned to Philadelphia, PA to assist in international strategic planning/grant writing workshops for the Vincentian Family. We welcome Roberta Trost in this position who has over 20 years’ experience in fund raising, business development, client relations and account management with various professional services organizations. Our holistic approach to education continues as we build our professional team to address the needs of our students and families.
We look forward to sharing how you’ve made a difference in your child’s life by choosing Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School.
Sincerely,
Mary McGeathy, Principal

Sammy Davis Jr. is ancient history for students at Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School in East St. Louis.
But they whooped and hollered when impersonator Nicholas Brooks sang Sammy’s 1972 hit “The Candy Man.”
“That was one of my favorite assemblies ever,” said Christina Burrell, 13, of Fairview Heights. “I want to be in showbiz, and he gave me pointers on how to be myself and stick with it.”
Nicholas, 33, of Las Vegas, returned to his old neighborhood to encourage children to follow their dreams.
